Description

The southern transept facade of the Cologne Cathedral

The Gothic Cologne Cathedral was completed after a construction time of 632 years in 1880. The southern transept facade was built as late as the 19th century. And the bronze doors were purpose-built by Ewald Mataré as late as the middle of the 20th century.

Die südliche Querhausfassade des Kölner Doms

Der im gotischen Stil begonnene Kölner Dom wurde 1880 nach insgesamt 632 Jahren Bauzeit fertiggestellt. Die südliche Querhausfassade stammt jedoch aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. Die Bronzetüren der Südseite sind von Ewald Mataré erst Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts angefertigt worden.
