The American Board missionaries in the Sandwich Islands offered an older press to the Oregon missionaries. Between 1839 and 1845 a total of nine books were printed by Henry and Eliza Spalding and Cornelius Rogers. Eight were printed in the Nez Perze language, the ninth in Spokan.
