Slovenčina: Panovník Matej I. Imrichovi Zápoľskému za zásluhy v bojoch a za vynikajúce služby v roku 1465 daroval Spišský hrad a povýšil ho medzi magnátov tým, že ho, ako druhého svetského šľachtica, povýšil do funkcie dedičného župana Spiša.
Imrich Zápoľský venoval sa svojim majetkom na Spiši, najmä Spišskému hradu, ku ktorému ho viazalo nielen vlastníctvo, ale aj dedičný titul . V rokoch 1465 – 1472 ho prebudoval a zmodernizoval. Prebudoval južný vstup, hradobný múr tak, aby odolal modernejším strelným zbraniam i aby z neho nové zbrane mohli útočiť. Vybudoval nové obytné budovy a postavil hradnú gotickú kaplnku. Z hradu sa stala honosná rezidencia, ktorá bola primeraná jeho stavu a úradu. Často sa tu zdržiaval v rokoch 1472 – 1487. Na obrázku dobová kúpeľňa na Spišskom hrade |
