Dansk: D16: Cirka 6,5 cm. høj skakbrik af hvalrostand, der forestiller en biskop til hest. På sin venstre arm bærer han et trekantet skjold, mens den højre hånd stikker ned i gabet på en liggende drage ved siden af hesten. Fundet i Bikubens gård - "dybt i undergrunden" i Silkegade i København i 1866. D444/1978: Medaillonformet spillebrik af hvalrostand. Diameter: 5,9 cm. Højde: 1,2 cm. Midtfelt med et højt relief skåret, trehoved uhyre med to ben og en kraftig, tredelt hale, som ender i akanthus. Foran og under figuren er akanthusvækst. De med spidse huer beklædte mandshoveder har moustacher, fuldskæg og individuelle træk; det forreste klumpnæse, de to andre semitiske næser. Huerne tyder på, at det i øvrigt uidentificerede motiv har orientalsk oprindelse. Det er kantet med en ca.0,8 cm. bred bort med palmettemotiv, typisk for 1100-årenes skulpturer. Spillebrikken må efter sammenligning med elfenbensarbejder og andre brikker formodes at være fransk eller kølnsk arbejde fra 1100-årene. Inv.nr.: 7139: Spillebrik. Diameter: ca. 5,5 cm. Midtfeltet er et reliefarbejde af en mand med skæg, der i hver hånd kvæler en drage som han holder ud fra sig og som med halen har snoet om hans ben. Spillebrikken er fundet på Vordingborg Slots ruiner. Datering på alle tre spillebrikker: 11-1200-årene. |
