Summary edit

Description
English: Leuconoid body plan of Spongilla with gemmules and archeocytes Section through the leuconoid sponge, Spongilla. The slide highlights the complex canal system. Within it, you can see several gemmules, some of which were damaged in sectioning. The halo effect around the gemmules is from the spicules that protect this asexual reproductive structure. The mass in the center of each gemmule consists of archeocytes.
