Spongy structure of 35%vol polyethylene from a polymer blend (SEM x100)

Summary edit

Description

English: This sample was obtained by blending 35 %v of polyethylene-co-octene with 65 %v of polyethylene oxide then extracting polyethylene oxide with water. The resulting structure is similar to that of a sponge : all polyethylene strands are interconnected but there is a lot of space in between, enabling the compression of the sample.
