editDescriptionSpreading the word over radio waves (12322451785).jpg |
Savane FM (pictured) broadcast their regular radio talk show on FGM/C across the capital in Burkina Faso. The show is broadcast in the local language Morri and reaches 5 million people - one third of the entire population in Burkina Faso. In 2003 Burkina Faso began a nationawide campaign to end the practice, which includes radio shows to broadcast information about harmful traditional practices including FGM/C.
