English: Sproxton North Quarry. Large disused limestone quarry in the fields above Sproxton. The OS map marks this as filled with water but it was empty apart from a muddy trickle at the bottom on this occasion and obviously had been for some years as evidenced by the shrub and tree growth at the foot of the rockface. It is an important geological SSSI. |
