Nederlands: Spui, Den Haag, tussen de Bierkade en de Amsterdamse Veerkade, ca. 1900. Het witte gebouw aan de linkerkant, Spui nr. 271, was het hotel 'De Zeven Kerken van Rome', dat daarvoor 'Hotel Pico' heette. In 1872 verbleef de socialistische revolutionair Karl Marx (1818-1883) in Hotel Pico, tijdens het vijfde congres van de International Workingmen's Association (IWA), gehouden van 2-7 september 1872 in Den Haag. Het hotel staat ook bekend om zijn werknemers Hendrik Jut (1851-1878) en diens latere vrouw Christina Goedvolk, die daar werkten in hetzelfde jaar dat Marx daar verbleef. In december 1872 pleegden Hendrik Jut en Christina Goedvolk een dubbele doodslag in Den Haag, tijdens een misgelopen inbraak.

In 1872 the socialist revolutionary Karl Marx (1818-1883) stayed in Hotel Pico, during the fifth congress of the International Workingmen's Association (IWA), held from 2–7 September 1872 in The Hague. The hotel is also known for it's employees Hendrik Jut (1851-1878) and his to-be wife Christina Goedvolk, who worked there in the same year that Marx stayed there. In december 1872 Hendrik Jut and Christina Goedvolk commited a double manslaughter in The Hague, during a robbery gone awry.

Das Hotel ist auch bekannt für seine Mitarbeiter Hendrik Jut (1851-1878) und seine spätere Frau Christina Goedvolk, die dort im selben Jahr gearbeitet haben, in dem Marx dort gewohnt hat.
