Source Historic Treasures and Lost Mines of British Columbia (1976), N.L. Barlee. Canada West Publications. The book states the picture was probably commissioned in the ships early days. Ship was built in 1851 and sank in 1875. The wreckage site has not been found. The picture dates to no later than the middle 19th century.
