English: The crossing crypt ("vieringscrypte") in the church of Saint Servatius in Maastricht, the Netherlands, in 1967. The crypt is one of four in the church, in this case situated underneath the crossing. At this point in time the reliquary chest of Saint Servatius was exhibited here to be venerated by pilgrims. The pedestal was constructed in such a way that pilgrims could walk underneath. Collection RHCL, Maastricht, ref. nr. GAM 28355. |
