| Description |
English: St Andrew's Greek Orthodox church, Torquay As St Saviour's, this was the medieval parish church for Tormohun, the parish into which Torquay grew. Impressive mature trees dominate the church but make it awkward to photograph. "The W tower without buttresses and pinnacles has the marked batter of early building. The interior and exterior of the church itself over-restored in 1849 so that it has now assumed the peculiar atmosphere of Early Victorian churches. It was originally aisleless; north aisle added c14."--Pevsner: South Devon, 1952. |
