Summary edit

Description
English: St Cassian's, Chaddesley Corbett Looking across to the lychgate and spire of Chaddesley's church. Tradition has it that St Cassian was a Christian schoolmaster in Roman times who was martyred for refusing to sacrifice to the Roman Gods. In revenge he was turned over to his own pupils who bound him to a stake and tortured him to death by stabbing him with their pointed iron styli (writing instruments). School discipline was obviously was a problem in those days as well!
