Description
English: St Catharine's Dub, Collieston. This rocky area is the area where a Spanish galleon from the Armada is reputed to have run aground as it tried to get home in 1588. However, the more plausible derivation of the name is from the sinking of a Flemish ship carrying ammunition in 1594 to a Catholic uprising. Note the constant dip to the rock strata and the massive size of the stone blocks.
