Description

St. John's Cathedral, located at the intersection of Regent and Albert St in Belize City,

This cathedral was the first church to be built in the colony of British Honduras. It was built by slaves, using bricks brought to Belize as ballast in the hulls of ships sailing from Europe. The construction took 8 years and was completed in 1812.

Today the cathedral is a historical landmark of Belize.
