Summary
editDescriptionSt John's church and hall, Earl Rise - geograph.org.uk - 273215.jpg |
English: St John's parish church (right) and hall (left), Earl Rise, London SE18. The first church on this site was built in 1883, severely damaged in the Second World War and demolished in 1953. The current church was built within the ruined walls of the first one in 1959, using what may have been parts of the transept and chancel walls and some of the original windows. The remainder of the site was redeveloped in about 1972 with the hall shown here, and housing association properties. |
