Summary
editDescriptionSt Johns Chester 03.jpg |
This church, once an important building in the area, was partially demolished so that the building materials could be sold for a profit. This picture has a special story, though. The story goes that a nun once lived at a convent at this church. Her main aim in life was to get closer to god, in order to earn a place in heaven upon her death. After her death, someone (I forget who) decided to honor her wishes by leaving her remains a little closer to heaven. Her coffin was set into the church walls. I found it hugely morbid and slightly scary that I was standing beneath a coffin. |
