Summary edit

Description
English: St Margaret's church. Viewed from across the eastern section of the churchyard. The entrance into St Margaret's church leads through a 15th century doorway that is surrounded by a Victorian scroll on the inside > 745536. The interior > 745523 - 745524 was extensively restored on two occasions: by Mrs Fellowes in 1846 and in 1878 by Major Bourchier; another restoration was carried out in 1936. The stained glass windows date from this time; several of the windows, including the east window > 745529, were made by Ward & Hughes of London. The east window commemorates Colonel Claud Bourchier who was awarded the Victoria Cross in the Crimean War. An old ledger slab depicting a skull and crossbones is set into the west wall > 745537. The church is kept locked but a key is readily available. See also http://www.norfolkchurches.co.uk/felthorpe/felthorpe.htm
