Description
English: Saint Margaret's Church, Felbrigg, Norfolk, mural monument to Vice Admiral William Windham (1768-1833) (born "William Lukin") of Felbrigg Hall. Inscribed: Sacred to the memory of WILLIAM WINDHAM Vice Admiral of the White, eldest son of Dr. Lukin, Dean of Wells by Catherine daughter of Robert Lee Doughty, Esq. of Hanworth. He was born 20th September 1768 and died 12th January 1833 aged 64 years. By will, he succeeded to the name and property of his uncle, the late Right Honourable William Windham upon the demise of his widow in 1824. Vice Admiral Windham married in 1801, Anne second daughter of Peter Thellusson, Esq., Broadsworth, Co. York. By her he had issue seven sons and six daughters, all of whom survived him with the exception of George, a Lieutenant in the Navy who died at Malta and Thomas who died an infant.
