Description
English: St Mary's church - padlocked. Close-up of the heavy chain and padlock which secures the porch doors. It is most unusual for churches to even keep their porch locked. St Mary's church > 1313646 with its Saxon round tower > 1313639 with 18th century conical top is situated beside the road through Howe on the site of an older place of worship. Inside there is an old tower arch but much of the remaining interior dates from the 19th century. Sadly this church is kept locked and most unusually, even the porch is padlocked as depicted here. Visitors and pilgrims do not seem to be welcome here. For more information see: http://www.norfolkchurches.co.uk/howe/howe.htm
