Summary edit

Description Interior of St Matthew's Church, Carr Bottom Road, Bankfoot, Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. Designed by Mallinson and Healey, and completed in 1849. All 1849 carving by Robert Mawer. Showing chancel. The church was cleared during the 2010 reordering. The original altar, pews, wooden pulpit, carved stone font and organ are gone. The wooden reredos is moved forward, creating a storage room behind. The chancel ceiling has been repainted as per the original design. Showing north aisle. The Cube on the left contains a secular area. Note the carved label stop heads on the gallery, and the carved stone corbels (all by Mower) supporting the arch braced roof trusses. Unfortunately the corbels have been painted.
