Text from: Farrer, Edmund, Church Heraldry of Norfolk, Vol 1 (1885), p.288 [1]: Tablet on the North Wall of the Nave, with Shields (Defaced): For Martine Sedley, "descended from the Worshipfull and antiente Famelye of the Sedleys of South Fleete in Kent." He married first Anne Shelton, "descended of the antiente and worshipfull famelye of the Sheltons of Shelton," and second Abigail Knyvett, "descended of the worshipfull and antiente Famelye of the Knyvetts of Ashwell Thorp. At the age of 78, in the year of grace 1609, happelye he exchanged this Transitory for an Eternal Lyfe."
Re Sedley of Southfleet, Kent: the manor of Southfleet was sold by Sir John Gerrard (Lord Mayor of London in 1601) to Sir William Sedley, 1st Baronet (c.1558–1618) (cr.1611, "of Aylesford"), of the Friars, Aylesford, Kent (Edward Hasted, 'Parishes: Southfleet', in The History and Topographical Survey of the County of Kent: Volume 2 (Canterbury, 1797), pp. 421-440 [2]). Sir William Sedley, 1st Baronet (c.1558–1618) was the son and heir of John Sedley, or Sidlet, of Southfleet, by Ann Colepeper, da. of John Colepeper, of Aylesford.
