Summary
editDescriptionSt Saviour, Dartmouth, Devon - Royal Arms - geograph.org.uk - 1727467.jpg |
English: St Saviour, Dartmouth, Devon - Royal Arms, "CR", Carolus Rex, either of Charles I or Charles II, not dated. Strapwork elements (popular in Elizabethan era) on tablet at bottom containing Garter motto, suggest earlier rather than later 17th century post-Restoration date, when Baroque elements popular, thus probably Charles I. Also CR with no numeral can be assumed to be C I |
