Description

Stagecoach North East's 32112 (K112 SRH), a Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart midibus in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, painted in the colours of the hybrid bus scheme Quaylink, although this bus is only one of several relief vehicles used as spares for regular buses that operate the two Quaylink routes linking Newcastle and Gateshaed to the Quayside.

Despite the similar colour, this elderly diesel powered bus is in marked contrast to the hybrid gas-turbine/electric Designline vehicles normally used, in both shape, and by virtue of being around 12 years older than the Designline hybrids.

This bus was part of a batch built in 1993. After a brief spell as a demonstrator with Blackpool Transport, it joined the rest of its batch at London Buses Ltd as part of their DRL series, and was put to work in North Street Garage in East London. On privatisation of London Buses it became part of Stagecoach Group's London bus fleet.

It stayed in London until 2001 when it was transferred to Stagecoach Busways as No. 1300 (later to become Stagecoach North East No. 32112), where it served in standard corporate colours (likely both the earier, and definitely the latter versions) before its repainting in 2008 into the Quaylink colours, along with sister bus No. 32134 (K134 SRH). That particular bus has a non-standard rear end due to damage sustained after being stolen in London for a ram raid robbery. Reports also suggest that 32121 (K121 SRH) is in use for Quaylink spare duties.
