Stamp of Uruguay; 1948; commemorative stamp of the issue "(Unveiling of) Monument to Jose Enrique Rodo"; Meant is the Uruguayian Poet and Writer ("Essayist") of the Moderne with full name: "José Enrique Camilo Rodó Piñero" (1871-1917); stamp motive with the quotation from him "...un gran amor es el alma misma quien ama..." (= "...a great love is the soul itself who loves..."); Depicted is an figures group from the monument for him in Montevideo ("Parque Rodo"). (Main motive on the stamp is a phantasy depiction (right side of the monument) after old-Greek Hellenistic paragon (probably a figures group with the archangel Ariel, creator of this monument: the Uruguayian sculptor José Belloni (1882-1965)); stamp postmarked
