Stamp of the Republic of Burundi (First Republic); 1969; commemorative stamp of the issue to the "Christmas 1969"; issue of 6 stamps + 4 blocks each à 3 different stamps (perforated and imperforate, Michel: Bl39A+B); The depicted stamp is BDI Michel: No. 531A from 1969. The stamp shows as motive a detail of the painting "Adoration of the Magi" or "Die Anbetung der Könige" by Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1649).; Depicted is a detail of the Antwerpen variant of this painting (contemporary located in the "Koninglijke Museum voor Schoone Kunsten").; It was created in 1624 by Rubens in the style of the Flemish Baroque.; This stamp was postmarked in Usumbura in 1970 (probably an CTO).
