Stamp of the United Arab Emirates (Emirate Fujeira); 1972; commemorative stamp of the issue "Painting of the Madonna"; issue of 6 stamps + 1 block (Michel: Bl96A) à 1 stamp; Depicted is the stamp UAE-UQ, Michel: No. 876A from 1972.; The stamp motive shows a detail of the painting "Madonna in a church", other title; "Virgin en una iglesia", "Madonna in der Kirche" by Jan van Eyck (1390 - 1441).; The Flemish painter Jan van Eyck is seen as the initiator of the Renaissance in the Northern Europe with origin in Flanders in times of the late moyen age.; The original painting ist created ca. in 1438 in the style of the (early) Renaissance and is contemporary located in the "Gemäldegalerie Berlin" (Germany).; Unfortunately this stamp was postmarked with a unreadable CTO.
