Summary edit

Description This piece of sculpture is a simple one with a simple explanation. Originating from the state of Haryana in northern India, this image is a depiction of the Hindu god Surya, in a standing position. Surya means the sun, which is worshipped by Hindus in many parts of India as a life giver. Surya is also referred to as Aditya (my son's name!) in Hinduism. (Chandigarh, north India, Nov. 2017)
