English: Stansted Mountfitchet: Stansted Airport railway spur A London-bound Stansted Express train from Stansted Airport rounds the curve to approach the junction with the West Anglia Main Line, the overhead electricity supply lines for which can just be seen to the left of the leading coach. The Stansted Airport railway spur, which also has a link to Birmingham, was completed in 1991 at a cost of about £44 million.
The number of the leading unit, did I hear someone ask? ...317714, and what a motley collection of liveries are currently used on these trains! The image was taken from the footpath that parallels the railway to the east of Stansted Mountfitchet station. |
