English: Site of Staple Station, Durlock Road The station was originally called Staple & Ash but was soon renamed Staple. It had a single 100’ brick-faced platform on the up side of the line with a passing loop and a large loading dock on the down side. This was served by the loop and a siding on the far side. The station was opened on 16 October 1916, closed to passengers on 1 November 1948 and closed completely on 1 March 1951. |
