Description
English: Charles Dickens (ship) Norwegian flag vessel built in 1856 by Smith & Rodger of Glasgow.She was firstly a steamship built for Bibby Line, and named Danube. In 1873 the Leyland Line took her over. Sold in 1874 to Robert Sloman of Hamburg, she was converted to a three masted ship rigged vessel named Charles Dickens. In 1897 she was sold to A. P. Ulriksen of Mandal Norway and was broken up in 1909. (Description supplied with photograph.).
