DescriptionStatfold Barn Railway - goods train (geograph 4517498).jpg |
English: Statfold Barn Railway - goods train. The locomotives are 2' gauge and the train is 2' 6" gauge - one of the wonders of this private railway. The lead locomotive is Minas de Aller - an 0-6-0 PT built by Corpet of Paris in 1884 as No. 439. It has Brown's valve gear and drives to the wheels via a rocker arm. It was used at a mine in Spain and is Statfold's oldest working narrow gauge locomotive and only working French-built steam locomotive. Behind is Howard - Hunslet Locomotive No, 1842 built 1936 as a 3' gauge for British Aluminum and later regauged to 2' for the Dursley Light Railway and converted from saddle tank to side tank. It was acquired by the Statfold Barn Railway in 2012 and ran in the 2013 season. It was given a major overhaul in 2014 and was seen in the works in March 2014 - SK2406 : Statfold Barn Railway - in the works. When it came to Statfold it was called Josephine but is now Howard and has reverted to a saddle tank. It is an 0-4-2 design with inside valve gear and wheels inside the frames as regauged. |
