Perry-Lyon Nav Co Str. Milwaukee Delcardo Bay Jan'y 14th, 1910 Date: January 14, 1910 Source Type: Postcard Publisher, Printer, Photographer: Unknown Postmark: March 9, 1910, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Collection: Steven R. Shook Remark: This postcard images faces southeast toward Carlin Bay on the western shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The Perry-Lyon Navigation Company operated steamboats on Lake Coeur d'Alene that provided scheduled transportation services. Mica Bay, which is immediate north of Delcardo Bay had regular service operating in 1910. Steamers would leave the community of Coeur d'Alene at 7:00 am, 10:00 am, and 2:30 pm for Mica Bay and depart Lyondale at Mica Bay for Coeur d'Alene at 8:00 am, 11:30 am, and 3:45 pm. Note that there was a railroad terminus at Mica Bay at this time. Captain Perry purchased an interest in the Lyon Navigation Company in April 1909 and the company changed its name to the Perry Lyon Navigation Company. At the time of the merger, the company acquired two steamers, the Milwaukee and Spray, which they added to their existing fleet of two steamers, the Tacoma and the Lyondale. The Perry-Lyon Navigation Company incorporated on April 19, 1910. The Milwaukee was an 88-foot, propeller-driven steamboat constructed in 1909 possibly for the Red Collar Steamship Line. Note that in The Harrison Area, a Arcadia Press Images of America book, this steamboat is misidentified as Bonne Doon.
