Description The fishermen´s day is always held the first Sunday in June each year, unless the Pentecost is a day when he next Sunday thereafter. He is a wonderful day for all seafarers. The day was first celebrated on 6 June 1938 in Reykjavik and Ísafjördur but from the early 20th century was the case of seafarers to hold special Masses in churches before þilskipin went fishing for winter lay, who was at third or 4 Sunday after Epiphany. In 1987, the day statutory holiday fishermen.
