Description
English: Stele commemorating the military campaign of Year 18 of king Senusret I. The king is depicted with two plumes on his head, similar to the classic representation of the god Amun. A god Horus was later added, for unknown reason, behind the king, holding his hand. The god Montu stands in front of Senusret and is blessing him. Montu holds the ropes that ties the subjugated nubian tribes (behind the god, and under their feet). The inscriptions below is dedicated to the king's titulary, to the titles of the general Mentuhotep who led the campaign, and a description of the campaign itself.
Limestone, 12th dynasty, Middle Kingdom. Florence, Museo archeologico nazionale.
Calcare, XII dinastia, Medio Regno. Firenze, Museo archeologico nazionale.
