English: Steps to Compton Bay. A very steep set of steps takes you down to the shoreline at Compton. They are particularly slippery when wet (as today) so you need to hold onto both handrails very firmly. The cliff is subject to continuous erosion and slumping and the steps have moved in places. They will probably need to be rebuilt in a couple of years (subjective assessment).
Update June 2009. Have they been rebuilt? From this new photo 1378819 it is difficult to tell. |
