Summary edit

Description
English: Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) The fibre of stinging nettles was once used to make thread for cloth - similar to that of flax - especially in the Scandinavian countries before the introduction of flax. Apparently the juice of the stinging nettle provides an antidote for its own sting so if there are no Docks, Rosemary, Mint or Sage nearby ....! This specimen was growing in a deep damp ditch under a hedge.
