English: Stockton locks, Grand Union Canal Looking east up the flight of locks at Stockton. These locks were always known as 'the Itchington ten' by the working boatmen and where locks in a flight are close together, as here, the term was 'thick'. So, traditionally, this stretch would have been described as 'the thick of Itchington'. |
