Summary edit

Description
English: Photo of the small Stoltenberg Public Park in the town of Tønsberg, Norway, established in the 1920s.

Monument or memorial with a portrait relief by the sculptor Carl E. Paulsen (1896–1973) as a tribute to the "Painter Mathias Stolteberg 1799–1871," "Erected in memory of the 100th anniversary of his death; Presented by Tønsberg Art Association in 1971."

The 'music pavilion' for outdoor conserts was added in 1924. Music pavilions, popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, were architectural structures in parks for open-air concerts and cultural events. They varied in design, served as community hubs, and are being revived today for their historical and architectural significance.

Norway

The Norwegian Copyright in Literary, Scientific and Artistic Works Act, in section 31 says that works of art and photographic works may be depicted when they are permanently mounted or located in or near a public place or a publicly accessible passage through some place. However, this does not apply when the work is clearly the main subject and the reproduction is exploited commercially. The same section says buildings may be freely depicted.

Since Commons requires that all images be free for commercial use, buildings are the only copyrighted works in Norway for which the FOP exception applies for Commons.

See COM:CRT/Norway#Freedom of panorama for more information.
