| Description |
English: Stone relief, Omagh Courthouse. If you stand at the front right hand corner and look up along the wall along Georges Street you will see this architraved niche above the window nearest the Courhouse Hill, which I thought to be King George but according to Dr Haldene Mitchell in one of his "Images of Omagh" books, he states that this two foot high statue represents Justice seated with scales. This plaque was removed and restored to its former glory a short while ago but the mesh which makes it difficult to see has been retained.
Charles Symth was paid the sum of three pounds and ten shillings for putting it in place in 1854. |
