Summary edit
DescriptionStones and rocks at Loch Tay - geograph.org.uk - 1359411.jpg |
English: Stones and rocks at Loch Tay It looks like oil in amongst the fragments of rock with that irridescent sheen however whether it has come from motorboats on the Loch or whether it is permeating up through the ground I have no idea. I'm sure I've seen this before and no boats or industrial action was anywhere to be seen.
Loch Tay owes its origins and great depth to the erosional action of glaciation. Much of the stones and boulders is till left behind after the scouring action of ice sheets but some are alluvial deposits washed down from the hillsides. |
