Description
English: Stoney-Baynard Plantation: Detail of the "tabby" cement used in the construction of the buildings at the Stoney-Baynard Plantation. Tabby was made from the lime of burned oyster shells, mixed with whole shells, sand, and freshwater. "The name 'tabby' comes from the Spanish 'tapta' for 'mud wall.'"
