English: Stott Hall Farm Sandwiched between the two lanes on the highest stretch of the M62 motorway south of Ripponden is Stott Hall Farm. A popular urban myth is that this is a monument to a farmer's stubbornness but tenant farmer Paul Thorp explained to BBC Manchester in February 2007 that "it was because of the geography of the land. The westbound carriageways a lot higher than the eastbound and they couldnt get the two to sit together thats why it parts. So it was only geography that saved the place.
