Description Stowe House, Kilkhampton, Cornwall, built by John Grenville, 1st Earl of Bath c. 1670/85, demolished 1739. Detail from drawing by John chessell Buckler in 1827 copied an unknown original depiction (possibly from the engraving in the collection of Peter Prideaux Brune, see ). Pencil on paper, length: 26.2 cm width: 35.8 cm. Inscribed: "Stowe House near Kilkhampton in Cornwall, the seat of the Grenville family. This house is supposed to be (sic) rebuilt by John the eldest son of Sir Beville Grenville temp. Charles II. It was taken down early in the 18th century"(sic).
