Description

These exposures in Dinosaur National Monument, Utah consist of structurally tilted, Jurassic- and Cretaceous-aged sedimentary rocks. At center & left is the upper Morrison Formation (Upper Jurassic). At the right is a mixed siliciclastics succession: Mowry Shale, Dakota Sandstone, and Cedar Mountain Formation.

Stratigraphy: Mowry Shale (mid-Cretaceous) over Dakota Sandstone (Lower Cretaceous) over Cedar Mountain Formation (Lower Cretaceous) over the upper Morrison Formation (Upper Jurassic)

Locality: Fossil Discovery Trail area (view from Carnegie Quarry), western Dinosaur National Monument, northern Uintah County, northeastern Utah, USA
