In the left distance is the high ground of Baharipore or Kissingungee, and to the left is the ridge coming down from Hindoo Rao's. In the centre distance is Largo Sarai, and below is Subseemundee. To the right are thickly-wooded grounds and gardens, and the direction of of the Kumaul Road. more... Note: During the Siege of Delhi in 1857 the suburb of Subzee Mundee saw heavy fighting as rebels attacked the British forces stationed around Hindoo Rao's House. Read the ILN |
