| Description |
English: The Sultan Ibrahim Khan mosque in the citadel (Fortezza) of Rethymno in Crete. Its semi-spherical dome is one of the largest Ottoman-era examples in Greece. The base of the demolished minaret is visible on the left. Built at the place of the Venetian church of St Nicholas after the Ottoman conquest in 1646, it was named after the then reigning Sultan, Ibrahim I.
Ελληνικά: Το τζαμί Σουλτάν Ιμπραχίμ Χαν, στην ακρόπολη ("Φορτέτζα") του Ρεθύμνου. Ο ημισφαιρικός θόλος του είναι από τους μεγαλύτερους στην Ελλάδα. Κατασκευάστηκε στη θέση του καθολικού ναού του Αγ. Νικολάου μετά την πτώση της πόλης στους Οθωμανούς το 1646, και ονομάστηκε προς τιμήν του τότε σουλτάνου, Ιμπραήμ Α΄. |
