| Description |
English: Summit radio relay hut, Cairn Gorm I had the privilege of holding a key to the hut while I worked on the Heriot-Watt weather station project in the late 1970s - '80s. It was built to maintain radio contact with mountain rescue teams working in areas of radio 'shadow' beyond the summit; a supply cable from the ski area connects with mains electrical power. Note the shovel - necessary equipment to gain access to the door in winter. |
