English: Sun Dial. Situated at the bottom of South Church Street, just before you cross over the River Teith footbridge. The inscription round the column reads as follows :
"I mark not the hours unless they are bright I mark not the hours of darkness and night My promise is solely to follow the sun and point out the course his chariot runs"You can see a little plaque to the left, which has more information if you are interested in the workings of sundials. |
