Description

Sunvalley Mall — in western Concord near Pleasant Hill, in the East Bay Area, Northern California.

  • It is one of the larger malls in the San Francisco Bay Area, supplanting Concord's 1950s-vintage Park & Shop, one of the first motorist-oriented shopping centers in the region. The Sears is the anchor tenant at the south end of the mall.


  • "I had made Concord my home during the dot-com boom and bust, and during that time this indeed was my home shopping mall."
  • "On this day, I am out here in Concord, rather than in San Francisco, to take in some sunshine during the morning hours. The Berkeley Hills are in the distance, and the fog is stubbornly holding on to them and anything beyond - Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, and more. Typical San Francisco Bay Area weather in summer. In about an hour or two, I need to head back into the fog to finish up the day."
